Our Mission

As a husband and father of three, I know how important it is to protect the ones you love.  Since joining Horace Mann in 1984, I have offered ways to protect and build assets so that you can have peace of mind through a full range of insurance financial products.  

Our agency works hard to facilitate the lifelong well-being of our clients. Our after-school workshops enable educators to better understand the complexities of the Massachusetts Teachers Retirement System, pension maximization, and how Social Security (if eligible through their work history or their spouse’s benefits) impacts their retirement. We strive to become the agency of choice by exceeding customers’ expectations on a daily basis.

I am proud of the unique way that we give back to the schools in the communities that we serve.  Our agency has donated e-readers to deserving students through our "Read to Succeed" program.  We have made donations to help fund teacher'’ projects in the classroom through Donorschoose.org and volunteered time in the classroom as well.  We continue to strive to make a positive impact in the schools we serve, and maybe even make a difference in a child's life, something we know educators do for our children every day.

BARBARA JACOBS

Director of Business Development

Barbara is a career and marketing professional who has spent the last thirty years developing and building businesses. Her career began in New York’s fashion industry where her primary goal was to identify and expand marketing opportunities, set strategic objectives, and work closely with major department and specialty stores.

Barbara joined Mike Letorney's office to plan and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy focusing on creating and enhancing partnerships with school districts on the South Shore.

Barbara organizes faculty meetings, retirement workshops, special events and works with complementary companies to provide educators with much-needed school supplies.

 Laura (Curran) Butler is a career professional who joined Horace Mann in 2014. Prior to joining our team, she worked in the finance industry for fourteen years at State Street and JP Morgan as an account manager of Mutual Fund Portfolios where she supervised 6-8 employees and was responsible for verifying mutual fund pricing prior to posting on the NASDAQ.

Laura’s role as office manager is to provide a positive and organized workplace that exemplifies her commitment to providing the highest level of customer service to our clients.
